What I have achieved in 2009

At the beginning of the year I set some goals for this year. Now is the time to once again look through that list and see what I have achieved.

  • Work out how to emigrate to Canada and start working toward it.

I have  made some progress with this but not that much. My partner has started a course that will hopefully help him move. I think I need to look at what I will be capable of doing. I am still interested in carpentry, as well as photography and writing. Maybe self employment would be good for me.

  • Declutter the flat. Get rid of as much as possible.

I have made good progress with this and I have got rid of a lot of clutter. There is still work to do but I am very happy with what I have done so far. It is not just a case of decluttering but it is changing a lifelong habit of not having a cleaning system and letting clutter get out of hand.

  • Read up about Buddhism. I feel that I am a Buddhist but do not know that much about it.

I have done some reading up about it, but I could read up some more and of course ideally I really need to find out where there is a Buddhist center near me.

  • Work on my photography.

I have been taking pictures everyday and I have been editing them. I have started a photography blog which will also hopefully inspire me to keep improving. I have also joined a photography club which will also hopefully help me improve my skills.

  • Learn more about Photoshop

I have got a book on Photoshop and  I have got stuff from magazines, but sadly I have not been good at making the time to sit down and learn. Other things have sadly got in the way. I do feel that I have done well with learning about working with RAW files and about the white balance. I am also confident with my mono conversions. I do need to learn more about the creative aspect of Photoshop and more about layers.

  • Go on a photography course

I went on a photography course in September. I really felt that I learned something from it and I am planning on taking the follow up course either in January or in April.

Happy Christmas

It is that time of the year again. festivities and so on.

It is also nearly the end of the year. A time to think about what I have achieved this year and about what I want to achieve next year.

I always thing it is exciting at this time of the year for that reason. The ending of one year and the dawn of another.
