I think I have turned a corner

I think I have turned a corner

I have been very busy recently. I have been working on cleaning the flat but not making much progress until one day I saw that there had been at least a mouse in the kitchen.

I then decided that I had to spend the whole day cleaning the kitchen. I did really well and cleared the junk off the floor and washed the floor. It felt great not to have clutter there. I let myself recover from the mass cleaning and then I wor3eked on the sides. While I was cleaning them I actually saw a mouse. I managed to catch it and release it.

I really like seeing the kitchen clean and I know that as it is the kitchen I have to keep it clean. I am determined that it should not get in such a bad state again so I am going to set a system up so that I keep on top of things.

I think the turning point came yesterday when I was cleaning the kitchen. I cleaned the other day and normally I just leave it to get really dirty again before cleaning it but yesterday I cleaned a fresh spill from it. I was so pleased as I really have enjoyed seeing the kitchen nice and clean. I really, really hope that it never get into the horrible mess that it was again.

I have also started decorating the living room. Devil Boy has said that he will do it for ages but done nothing about it, so I decided that I would do it. I have only been doing bits at a time but I will get there. I have done two walls and once I have caught up with the cleaning I will do the wall behind the computers.

I have managed to clear the junk out of the twin’s room after my youngest son managed to climb out of his cot and make a big mess. I now have to sort through my records and sell them online. I have also cleaned the wall after one of my friends called around. I was showing her the damp and by showing her I then realised how bad the damp had got. Thankfully now will be in mostly dry weather we will be all right for now but I have to treat the walls as it is not good for them to sleep in a damp room.

It is really funky as all of the work that i have been doing has affected the atmosphere. It does seem to be improving. I think that is as a result with my change in attitude.

April challenges

Oops I thought I had set myself March challenges for I obviously did not...oops.

Ah well here are April challenges

Ø Clean the kitchen completely
Ø Clean the living room
Ø Get some writing done
Ø Work on some collages
Ø Give Devil Boy some time to himself

There are not too many but they are big challenges

I had a funky weekend away

I went away for the weekend to stay with some friends that I met through the internet site Damsels. I had a really funky time.

The place where we stayed was really nice and it was just nice to get away from it and have fun. I am defiantly going to go to more Damsels parties.

The hostel where we stayed was haunted. It was actually really funky as there was a spirit with us when we were dancing. There are a lot of pictures taken with really big orbs on them. It was like the spirit was dancing as well. I actually did not feel nervous with made a funky change.

I sadly left my umbrella at the hostel but I have sent an E-Mail to the woman who runs the hostel so I am hoping that she will send it back to me. I have not got a reply yet but if I have not had a reply by the weekend I will send out another E-Mail to her.

Here is a picture of us dancing with a really funky orb 8in the middle of us.

February goals (results)

Ø Clean the kitchen from top to bottom and create a system to keep it clean.
I have cleaned it but not created a system yet

Ø Sort out the twins room
I have not done that yet

Ø Read up about Buddhism, meditation and anger management.
I have not done that yet

Ø Create some collages
I made a collage for Zander but that is it.

Ø Get writing
I have not managed to write anything new. Though I will be creating something for my art class (a comic strip picture collection)

I have not done that well in February. I could have done worse but i will have to make sure that I do a better job of the March challenges.

I had a funky art class today

Both the homestart course and the art classes are going really well at the4 moment.

The homestart course has nearly finished so by next Monday i have to get my 30 second advert ready, an off the record and informal letter to Donald (our teacher) and get a new CV made up. That will keep me busy. Especially as I want to keep working on my comic story pictures.

At the art class today we were supposed to be painting a live model. Sadly she has decided not to do it anymore so instead the teacher took a picture of me and she printed off on acetate paper. She then used an overhead projector to put the image onto the wall. We then put some canvasses on the wall where the picture was and I drew on the canvas from there.

It was really good as I was able to see how much shading there was to do and how much of a difference it makes. I really enjoyed it and I really like the picture s and how they look so far. Next week we will be using acrylic paint to paint them. I think it will be really funky.

Sadly the operation clean kitchen has suffered a setback. I have started playing Everquest II again and I am really enjoying it. I will have to get the kitchen gutted by next Friday when I go away but I have been finding it hard to motivate myself to do something that I do not want to do when there is something that I am really enjoying doing.

Here is what I did at my art class today:

I went to my second art class today

It was really funky. I made up a scrapbook today. I got bits of material to make up a funky cover for it and now I have got something to draw in it as well. I will start that as soon as I start to feel better.

The teacher really liked the collages that I took in to show her. I was really pleased about that.

We had a funky chat and she told me that, from next week I will be drawing a live model on the Friday lessons. I am really looking forward to that, as not only have I not drawn a real model before, but I also have not drawn a naked model. I think it will be really interesting. She told me that the model had never posed before so I think it is nice that we will be both doing a first together.

I asked her how much the models get paid to pose and she told me that they get paid £10 an hour. I think that is something that I could do when I work from home.

The homestart course went well yesterday as well. We were working on a circle and working out how we feel with different aspects of our lives. It was good to see which areas were good and which areas need attention. I am really pleased how things are going so far. It has been really funky.

I went to the art course today

I am really pleased that I managed it as I nearly forgot in the morning. I was busy making plans for what to do while my eldest was at nursery when I suddenly remembered that I had got the course.

I managed to get from the nursery to the centre quickly so I know that I can leave it as late as leaving to go and collect him from nursery.

The course will be a ten-week course and I will be going in on Tuesday and Friday from 1-3. I had a lot of paperwork to fill out but at least it has been done so when I go next we will start getting things done.

We went on one of the computers and she showed me some of the work that other students have done. There were some really funky pictures so I am looking forward to see what I can learn.

I told the woman about the collages that I have made and she asked me to bring them in on Friday to show her. It was really funky as it was nice to see her enthusiastic about seeing them.

Also on Friday we are going to start making a scrapbook. I am looking forward to that, as I have not done anything like that before. She told me to bring in lots of scraps of material to make the cover with so I think it can also be really interesting. We will also at some point be drawing a model that they are going to get in.

I think this is going to be a funky course.

Operation clean kitchen

I have decided that today is the start of operation clean up kitchen. I am going to pretend that we are going to have someone come around to inspect the kitchen and make sure that I have the kitchen gutted by that date. I will not be able to get much done today as I am not feeling well today. My nose is blocked, I have a bad cough and I feel run down. I even had to miss doing yoga tonight.

The course at homestart went well today and as there was only three of us there today we was able to get through what we needed to do. I was also thankfully able to get part of my homework printed off, as the woman who said she was going to print it off was not able to get in today.

I am really looking forward to starting the art course tomorrow. When I was out and about on Friday, I happened to notice that there was an art class. So I asked about it, and within a short time of getting home I got a phone call, saying that it will be all right for me to go in on Tuesday. As there have not been many enquiries about it, I will be getting one to one training for now. It would be really funky, as this is just what I need to get the skills that I will need so that I can use them for hopefully being able to work from home.

The course at homestart is going really funkily

We are now half way through the course at homestart. I have actually got a bit of homework to do for Monday. Hopefully I am able to get enough rest and that I am not effected too much by the cold that I am developing. I am shattered at the moment and in the need of a good night’s sleep.

I have done part of the homework. I have had to look for a job for someone who has the same skills that I do. I saw some jobs that would be good enough so I have to get them printed off for Monday. I will E-Mail them to someone who can.

I was out today taking a book back to the library when I noticed a sign in the centre advertising an art course. I asked about it and when I got home I got a phone call about it. I will go on my first art course next Tuesday and as we get income support it will not cost me anything. I am really looking forward to it as I have been meaning to go on a art course for a while. I am really pleased as before I would have just thought about asking about the course at a later date but I am so glad that I asked about it strait away. I am sure that it is going to be funky. Also as I am the only one going to the course at the moment I will be getting one to one tuition. I think that is great.

January goals – What I have managed to achieve

Here is what I have managed to achieve this month:

Ø Start doing Yoga most nights
I have done this
Ø Do an energetic workout DVD one a week
I have been doing a hip-hop work out once a week
Ø Work on the shed.
I have done a little of this
Ø Sort through my records and get stereo ready to put on freecycle
I have not done this
Ø Restart a beauty care routine (keeping my hands soft, cleansing, toning and moisturising my face at night etc)
I have done this
Ø Get to bed earlier.
I have managed this some nights

I think I have done a really good job this month. I have done more than I had thought. I need to make sure that I just focus on the declutching and shed but that can be for the next month’s goals.

New funky course at homestart is going well

I have started a new course through homestart. It is being done twice a week for 6 weeks. It is about building confidence and discovering what skills I already have ready for when I want to return to work.

It has been really funky and I am starting to look at things in a different way now. I also remembered skills that I had forgotten that I had done. We even get homework with it. I have to make sure that I get mine done tonight. We have to list out all of the skills that I have got. I have managed to get part of it done already. I have been really good though with my homework. When I was at school and college I always put things off until last minute but not that I am working on procrastination I have been really good and got the homework done before I have to.

In the course we talked about what we would like to do career wise and where we would like to be in five years time. I was thinking about how I want to work from home and that if I want this to work out I have to start working on my skills now rather than later. This prompted me to write a short story. I am really pleased that I have done it and I posted it on the Internet to get some tips about how it can be improved. I got some positive feedback about it and some useful tips on how to improve it. That has really helped. I am still going to take an English course but this has helped for how.

I am feeling more confident about the future now. I know where I am going. I just need to work out how to get there.

There is nothing like a visitor to help motivate

For the last couple of days I have been gutting the living room and Devil Boy even cleaned the bathroom as today we had a visitor from the youngling’s health visitor.

Unfortunately I also had to put some things into bags just to get them out of the way so I have to make sure that I get it done and also that I work out a system that I can keep on top of things. Now that the health visitor has gone I am going to start work on the kitchen. That really needs to be clear of junk so it becomes a better place to work in.

Yesterday I started a new course through homestart. It seems to be really funky. It is all about developing confidence and helping to increase motivation and eliminate procrastination. The course is designed to help get people back to work but we are not forced to do so. I have said that I would like to work from home so hopefully I will be able to find something that will be able to help me be able to do that.

Starting the mass declutter

While I did not get the opportunity to get much done while my son was at nursery I managed to get some cleaning done while I was talking to my good friend on the phone. I think I will concentrate on the kitchen first as that is the most important area. I will also re-bait the humane traps that I have got.

I just need to make sure that not only do I take on this job a bit at a time but also that I make sure that I do not keep adding to it making the job even more challenging for me.

I am glad though that I have made a start now.

Inspiring photographs and planning on big work on the flat

I am taking part in a photography challenge online and this month’s theme is new years resolutions. I took some pictures of the worst clutter areas to hopefully help inspire me to clear it and start clearing all of the clutter out.

I am on a mission as Devil boy said that it could be up to two year before we get a bigger place. The atmosphere in our home is too chaotic and that need to change, especially if we are going to be in the flat for longer than I had hoped. We need to paint the living room and the youngling’s room. I need to put up damp pain on a few of the walls and we need to be ultra efficient so that we keep on top of the clutter. I really have to change the atmosphere from chaotic to serene (well as serene as being in a home with three young younglings will allow)

I managed to do the hip-hop workout again tonight. I was tired at the end of it but it helped me drink a lot of water and I really felt like I’d had a good workout. I was happy that I managed to remember the moves from last week and I was more confident following this week. I know that I will just keep getting better each time that I do it. I really enjoyed doing it as well.

I have heard from the housing association

I have heard from the housing association about how many point we have been awarded to us. I have been told that we have got a good amount. They have also said that we are entitled to a four-bedroom house and may even be considered for a five-bedroom house. Hopefully it will not take too long before something becomes available.

I really have to get started on sorting through stuff so we do not take any junk with us.

I have been good with the exercises even if I have not made a good start to the decluttering I will make a better effort next week. I will have to get a system set up so that I can make time to get it sorted. Thankfully now that my eldest is at nursery that will give me time during the day.

A funky star to the New Year

I have started the New Year as I mean to go on. I have managed to get Yoga done every night so far. I am really pleased I have done that. I do feel much better for it. I will be doing the hip-hop work out this weekend. That should help burn off the extra weight that I must have put on. I did not eat to excess but I did eat more than normal and later in the night that I normally do.

I have also ordered some books. I have ordered books on Buddhism, meditation and anger management. I will have to make the time to read them. I have got a music CD to help with the meditation as well. I am looking forward to them arriving.

I have also been managing to get to bed earlier. I am not getting as early as I would ideally like but I am getting more structure to my evenings so that will mean that even if I do not manage to get to bed at the ideal time I will not be too much later.

I have also started working on the flat. I have been folding up the clothes that are in the living room and tackling the vast amounts of bags that are filled with nunk. I cannot just throw thejkm out as there are a lot of stuff in there that can be recycled but it is time consuming and a lot of times I have been put off by the daunting task. If I can keep doing little bits at a time then I will eventually get there. I just need to keep up the good with.

I think I will have to make a collage or two with some sayings on to keep me going.

January goals

Here is what I am hoping to achieve in January:

Ø Start doing Yoga most nights
Ø Do an energetic workout DVD one a week
Ø Work on the shed.
Ø Sort through my records and get stereo ready to put on freecycle
Ø Restart a beauty care routine (keeping my hands soft, cleansing, toning and moisturising my face at night etc)
Ø Get to bed earlier.

I think that will do for now, I do not want to do too much.

2008 goals

Here are the goals that I have got for 2008:

Ø Start a course at college (either Scottish Gaelic, creative writing, art or massage)
Ø Continue to work on my anger management (I have made good progress but I still have work to do)
Ø Hopefully move into a new house.
Ø Really go through my things and be really ruthless. I have still got far too much clutter. I have to get rid of anything that I do not need so that there is room for the things that I do want/need.
Ø Improve the diet of all of us and learn to cook new things. I have the books and recipes so all I now need is the motivation and the effort to make them.
Ø Even though I feel that I am a Buddhist I know little about it. I feel that this year should be one about spiritual discovery, development and learning more about Buddhism.

I really have to work at them so that I manage to achieve them.
